I've been having a problem with a bug lately that did not exist before, so it
must have resulted from a recent update (I always keep all my softwares
updated). This bug is extremely annoying.

I use several e-mail accounts and they are all downloaded (POP3/SMTP) to and
handled by Outlook. Every time I write a message and change the "send from"
account to have the e-mail sent from another account the whole message
disappears - I have to start writing the message again. I'm usually able to
save the message either through opening drafts or using the ctrl+z feature,
but a little now and then I cannot find the message. So I will have to
rewrite it!

Is there anything I can do to fix this, or is this some extra "feature"
provided in one of the updates? Please help!

This usually means you are typing in the signature field. To confirm, right
click on the message text - do you see the signature selector? Begin each
signature with two dashes so you can see where the signature begins.

I am completely lost as to what you are talking about. I created my
email address book by clicking on the Address book icon or button on
the right hand side of the top tool bar. I then clicked on the File
button on that screen and for each entry I clicked on the New Entry
button and filled out the info on each email address. I did not see
any button for messages or any signature. Please help as I have been
using Outlook since version XP or 2002 since it first was released and
only for email. I never have used the contact portion per se.

This problem is usually the result of the signature feature in outlook
2003/2007 - it changes the signature when you change sending accounts and
its very easy to type in the signature block, so switching sigs erases the
message text. It has nothing to do with contacts or the address book.

Well, the problem is that I'm not using a signature for most e-mail
addresses, but I do use it for my primary address. But I haven't ever had
this problem before - it started no more than two weeks ago, and it seems
happen almost every time I change account after having written an e-mail.

However, it seems there is no problem if I select (highlight) the whole
message before changing accounts. I'm not sure why, but perhaps this gives
someone an idea of what could be going on.
