message stuck in outbox

large attachment in outbox locking up application.
regular delete will not work; how do i delete

Are you connecting to an Exchange server or are you using a pst.

i was able to create a new .pst - get into the old outbox
(message isn't italicized) but it says unable to move
message or access denied (have administrative rights)??

Close Outlook and make sure all Outlook processes are closed in Task
Manager, also have you made the new pst the delivery point for email

completely closed, made sure new .pst is the delivery
profile - still no luck

Not sure what version you have, but if try creating a new profile and then
using File > Open > Outlook Personal Folder File (Outlook Data File), and
try deleting it that way. Must admit I always had success with the way I
first posted. Could also try ensuring that their isn't any network or
internet connection happening.
