Metadata

I'd like to know how to add metadata that can help to search and locate
documents based on keywords when I go to Vista.

How is this specifically added as metadata in my present word docs? Is it
simply to add comments? But this is only added to a paragraph or sentence so
I'm not sure what is meant by adding metadata now to help Vista's search
folder function.

Ask in the Vista Beta group. If you are a bonafide Vista Beta tester then you were given the address to the Vista Private Beta group.

I'm not a Vista beta tester. I haven't heard of this requirement to ask
questions about the new MS OS. Now, is there someone who can help with this
metadata question in the current version of Office to prepare my documents
for the Vista virtual folders?

Considering that is at least a year from now, and you aren't a beta tester,
what's the rush?

when would you suggest I start?

to take advantage of Vista's virtual folder resource we should be making use
of metadata in current documents. Some people have thousands of these
documents. It seems reasonable to me not to leave such an ongoing task to the
last minute for those who intend using Vista as I do.

After Microsoft has decided that the general public has the right/need to
know the answer to questions like this. (And this is *not* a sarcastic
response. The dust hasn't settled yet and anything you do now could be
completely wrong by the time Vista is anywhere close to being released.)

What sarcasm? I just directed you to the newsgroup that handles Vista on this server.

I am sorry that you feel that way and I cannot do anything about it but try that group and you will have your answers that you are looking for

Yes you are in the wrong forum, and if you had bothered to look
at the last 6500+ posts in this forum before you posted, you
would have seen that there is not one single question about Vista
here until yours. Take that as a hint.
