i have a pre-installed version of Microsoft office home and student 2007 on
my laptop. After 25 time of opening up excel or word, it not is on a
compatibility mode. I have tried to enter the product key number on the
bottom of my laptop which is on the microsoft label, but it says it is
invalid. Do I have to purchase another product key when this software was
suppose to be installed complete on my laptop?

It may just have been trial software and I suspect that's the case. That
sticker on the bottom is a Microsoft label - but it's for Windows, not
Office. Call your computer's manuafacturer and ask them (1) if you were
supposed to have recieved a full verion of Office and (2) if so, where they
put the product key.

Hi L.,

Is it asking for an activation code or a product key? If it's asking you to activate the trial you can do the activation on line
from one of the apps
Office Button=>Word Options=>Resources=>Activation

If it's asking for a product key then the trial may have expired (the trials expire at the end of a month) and purchasing a copy of
Office at that time would be needed to continue to use Office 2007 as more than a set of file viewers.
