Microsoft Office Home/Office Pro 2000 incompatribility issue

I recently purchased an Insignia computer from Office Depot running
office XP HomeEdition Version 2002 Service Pack 2.

I attempted to load Office 2000 Pro, but get an error:
"Windows files must be installed for your installation to proceed.
Please insert your Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 CD now."

I don't have the CD for my operating system, and am running "HOME",
not "PRO", anyway.

I contacted Insignia's help line and was told that XP Service pack 2
is not compatible with Office 2000.

Can this be true? Can anyone help?

Er, no you didn't because no such thing exists. Your computer is running
/Windows/ XP Home Edition Service Pack 2. Windows is not Office, nor does it
contain any Office applications.

The manufacturer will have given you some way of accessing the OS files,
they will be on a hidden partition. If you don't know how to access them,
contact the manufacturer or RTFM.

Of course, that's correct.

That dosn't respond to either issue.

First, I have *NO* CD's for the operating system, the error states I
must insert the CD, and dosn't offer to "Browse".

Secondly, it asks for the CD's for XP pro, not home addition.
