Based on the "Bonus" statment, you aren't actually out any "extra"
money, and he didn't make any claims as to your being able to use it.

Based on the "Bonus" statement, you aren't actually out any "extra"
money, and he didn't make any claims as to your being able to use it. So
I would not expect to get a refund for the software, as it had no
claimed value.

umwhat

When I picked up the computer and spoke to him he said it runs ok and it ryns
better than Office Professional 2007. He did intimate it ran properly and
that I would be able to use it ok, and I did say I really only wanted the
Office product.
I tiold him I want o keep the wireless mouse and keyboard. The keyboard
would not work for him.there was a piece of cooked something under the Shift
key and he said the keyboard would not work...I am waiting to see what his
reply is...

The other fellow, the cheap 2007 office version, someone asked him, why
have the cds got "Not for Resale" written on them. He is selling copies one
after the other is sold. I don't like that. I want to but one.

In reality it will only continue to work until something trips the
authentication routine, and it is no longer a legitimate install as far
as licensing is concerned. Good luck in your attempts at restitution.

umwhat

In a situation like that when the product is found as such will there be the
oportunity to make that version legal again?
I remembered being in a situation like this before when I had my first
Windows XP Home Edition which I still use as my main operating system today,
I reinstalled XP a second time on the original computer and to my surprise a
message saying the installation was illegal...remembering the exact events
has left me, but I discovered what I had done.
I think it was through these events and learning about what I had done
that I saw there was such a thing Microsoft used that gave the opportunity to
make an illegal copy legal once again.

That was for Windows XP (a currently selling product at the time) In a
nutshell, IF you had a pirated version installed you could basically buy
a new license and update the license key. I doubt that system is going
to cover this situation. If you really want Office 2003, check
Amazon.com for available 2003 packages.

umwhat

daylight robbery friend... I am hoping to find software disguised amongst
some hardware in an auction...hopefully, or I will pay for it...one way or
the other I feel.

U

umwhat

surely that is blatantly illegal...like me right now, browsing through this
copy of office 2003 pro.
I say, it is very nice, I will ot mind at all having to pay for it.
I already did buy a copy but the...lady had it installed on her pc and
tried...to copy it to a file hosting website so I could download it. She was
and still is quite prepared to give me the cd, when she finds it, and the
product key to, after all, I did pay for it.
However, she did discover her applications would not work after she moved
the Office11 files from the Office11 folder to the MyShared Folders folder on
her computer instead of to the Shared Folders folder on Sky Drive where we
were to "do" the transfer...lol...oh well, at least she is now too scared to
do any more damage by listening to my helpful advice or talk herself into
doing what she thinks will "do it" for her.
Crikey, she did all the talking, I could not interrupt at all...lol...and,
well...

see you out of jail...
signed...me, umwhat...ugh

First, copying the application files will not result in a working
installation, and second IF she is selling you her copy, she can't
expect to continue using it.

I thought that may be the case.
The "not for resale" notice on the cd and everywhere else had me a bit
bothered, and at the same time I had been reading auctions for Microsoft
Office 2003 Professional products selling with "Not for Resale" on the cds or
cases.
A person had bought one and asked the seller why do these cds have the
"Not for Resale" written on them. That seller is selling the office 2003 xp
pro for NZ$179 and selling dozens of copies each week. All the other retail
versions for auction are advertised for NZ$00 and up to NZ$500 and more!

If the seller included the software with the sale of the
computer, then you can go ahead and use it on that
computer.

I apologise for being rude about this. The guy sold the Office 2003 product
to me. I thought I could probably use on the computer he sold it with seeing
it was bought for that computer.
Maybe the software is intended for one owner.

U

umwhat

Oh I see, thankyou Carey.
I never have enough money to buy that way...I mean, the sort of way way
away sort of buying does not appeal to me at all.
Thankyou. I am hoping the Office Professional 2003 the lady sold me two
weeks ago is going to arrive from soon.
