And if any Microsoft employees read the newsgroups, their lawyers will
be alerted.

Being of a cynical mindset and being aware of no lawsuits brought by
Microsoft against unauthorized users of STE, it's not an outrageous
stretch to infer that STE is effectively Office Home Edition, with
Microsoft's full knowledge if not connivance (selling STE to grade
schoolers does share certain similarities with the cigarette companies
of old passing out free packs on college campuses without caring
whether the recipients were students or not). I'll believe otherwise
when Microsoft starts publicizing going after users who don't qualify
under the EULA. This would be a ready-made case here, but I'm not
holding my breath waiting for Microsoft to go after ePier.
