Migrating to FP 2003 problem

Good afternoon everyone,

We are in the process of changing from FP 2002 to FP 2003. So far everything is going smoothly.

We have ran into one major problem that I hope someone can help me with.

We have a couple of our main domains that have hundreds of subdomains. When we publish this site to our local server from the remote server, a cheap insurance policy in case the server crashes, FP 2002 would cruise right through all of the subdomains unless we had setup a password that was special to that subdomain. FP 2003 will not do this. It will prompt you for information for every subdomain. With over 300 subdomains, this can be a very time consuming process.

If we can get this one problem fixed, we will convert totally to FP 2003, if not, we will be going back to FP 2002 which we don't want to do.

Thank you in advance for any and all help.

Subdomain or subweb?

What information is it prompting you for?

When you change from FP 2002 to FP 2003, you must do a full publish of all
webs to get in synch, before publishing changed pages only.

I'm sorry, subweb. I was doing to many things at once when I typed my message.

It is prompting me first with a warning about Frontpage Components and gives me the option to Ignore and Continue.

Next it is prompting me about items in a _private directory stating that they may be viewable via the web and gives me the choice to Ignore and Continue also.

Also, I am doing an install to a directory on the computer that Frontpage is installed on, exactly the same thing we had been doing with FP 2002.

Hope this helps.

Thank you.

Unfortunately after any upgrade the full publish will do that until you have published all at least once (including subwebs)
- then set you publish options to changes pages only
