Mike Glen / Currency Settings

Mike Glen / Im Using PM 2002 US/ Reviewing Multiple Projects # 17 your
Currency settings are in another currency. Is their a way of changing the
currency only in one project without creating instability in the cost
resources section? Would enjoy completing the review of your multiple Project
resource pool #17, but I recieve an unstable message pop up, pryor to
conversion.
It appears in order to contunue without creating an unstable resource
section, I would need to change currency settings in my xp control section.
Is this necessary? Is there a way around it to complet the review?
Thanks so much Bill

Hi Bill,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

Tools/Options.../View tab has a setting to allow you to select currency for
your project. However, my articles are currency independent. Why are you
trying to change at all? Any decimal currency will work eg, for £ read $ or
Euros or A$... Any instability can't possibly be due currency. What were
you doing to get the error and what did it actually say?

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)

Thank you Mike

I had placed all three of your projects in the tray and opened a new project
file and named it "Pool". I Opened the first project to share, that is when I
recieved the message. The message stated that the currencys were different
and if I contunued the resources could become unstable. Something to that
effect. I will need to recreate the pop up for the exact statement.
I do thank you for sharing your Articles. I am studying project at the
present time.
Your resource sharing over many projects, has resolved many of my questions.
Again thanks

You're welcome, Bill :)

If the error comes back, you could temporarily change the currency setting
in Windows Control Panel/International settings. But, for the life of me, I
can't see how currencies could be an issue!
