Milestones & Timelines

For convenience we would like to place a timeline on a background page and
then reference milestones (located on foreground pages) back to the
background timeline. All attempts to reference to the timeline using
variations of Pages[Background Page]!MilestoneID.PinY (or User.TimelineID or
User.AutoUpdate) are rejected as error in formula message.

The question is can a milestone shape be made to reference a timeline that
is located on another page?

the timeline addin is another one of the 'sealed' pieces of code provided by
microsoft and probably can't do what your asking.
