Minimizing the word windows

Hi there,
I have a problem which comes and goes. So far it happened
two times. Now it came but doesn't go.
When i open more then one window to work with (word), and
then have all windows minimized, it works fine, However,
when I want to miximize the window back, all the
minimized previously windows diaappear and I loose
documents. If my question is unclear, I can try to
paraphrase it, but if you know what the problem is,
please advise me how to correct it. Thank you a lot,

Alexander, I have run into the same thing and it gets pretty frustrating
some times. What I have found out is if you minimize and maximize several
times what gets you in trouble is minimizing a window, then maximizing that
same window. Not sure if there is a Service pack out there or not, but what
I have found is if you right-click the taskbar item and select "Maximize"
this won't happen. Not much of a fix, but hopefully someone else will pop
in with a real fix.

This may be a manifestation of the bug described by Beth Melton as follows:

I suspect you've encountered a bug in the Handwriting Recognition
services. Try the following:

- Open your Control Panel
- Open Regional and Language Settings
- Select the Language tab
- Click Details
- Remove Handwriting Recognition

I just changed my settings at the home office. I've got some development
work to do this evening in Word so I will put it through its paces. Thanks
for the tip. Can't believe I haven't run across that before!
