Missing Autotext and Corrupt Normal.dot

I have a user who loses his Autotext about every 2.5 months. I had him
go into the autotext organizer and open his old Normal.dot file, but
he gets the error "Word cannot open normal.dot in organizer." Does
this mean his file is corrupt? If it is, can I extract the autotext
entries some other way? He's working with Word 2002 on a Windows 2000
machine.
