Missing downloaded e-mail

I just got a new XP machine with Office 2003. I am not a novice user - I have been using Outlook for over five years. I configured everything and Outlook is downloading my e-mail from my ISP server (and was deleting it until I stopped it) but it is nowwhere to be found! It is not showing up in my Inbox, the size of my outlook.pst file is not growing. I can't tell you how many times I've checked all the settings, made sure mail was supposted to be going to the correct file, etc. etc. etc. but the e-mail just isn't showing up on my system. Any ideas??

Thanks
Larry

Have you checked for rules/view filters?

Have you done a search for *.pst on your system (be sure to search
hidden/system files)? Checked to ensure that the delivery location is the
PST file you want?
