Missing text in footer MS Word 2002 SP3

I placed two lines of text in the footer only the first
line prints. I am using a HP Deskjet 831C. Any ideas on
how to getboth lines to print?

G'Day FRank,

Display the footer, and add an extra blank line at the end.

The second line is 'printing' on an area of the paper that
your printer can't print on.
