missing toolbar

I am missing my toolbar when I open a Word document. I have all the appropriate toolbars in my e-mail and Excel. Nothing in Word. I can only get it to print with ctrl p. no other ctrl commands work. it is driving me crazy any help or suggestions. please make them easy to follow. I am BLOND!!!
