Monthly cost allocation to tasks

I'd like to associate monthly cost associated with each task based on the
duration of the task. Each month may have a different value based on monthly
work performed.Then i would like a monthly cost summary.
Is this possible?

Mark,
Unless I'm missing something, you can simply use the Task Usage view set
up with a monthly timescale.
