More Rules Puzzles? (Diane where R U?)

Phillip A. Harris

Hi Diane,

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately my email load per day demands that
I move messages into folders based on (usually the source) some criteria.

I do think, while these workarounds are great and helpful(and much
appreciated), they are just that, workarounds. Many people make a choice to
use Mac's and are then required to use Exchange based "productivity" tools,
where to have a completely integrated solution forces us to use entourage.
Bottom line is, email packages have been doing rules based filtering since I
used my first copy of Eudora in the early/mid '80s. For Microsoft to ship a
product that represents such a mainstay of it's software family, where these
features are broken compared to it's Windows based cousin (Outlook) is a
very sad state of affairs (but I know you can't fix that problem).

I - as a with a very large number of Mac users - end up paying for the
Office suite for my Mac, a copy of vPC, a copy of windows to use on my vPC,
a copy of Outlook running on the vPC to handle setting server side rules
etc.. (i.e. I pay MS way more than your average PC user) and I end up with a
substandard product.

I know this vent shouldn't be directed at you, but the notion that Entourage
can't handle simple Move Rules, is, IMO ludicrous.

I am grateful for your patience in making the suggestions you have, but I
wonder if the PM for Entourage/Office thinks workarounds are a long term
solution??

Thanks again, best regards

Phil

Microsoft does monitor the newsgroups so your problem is being logged.
Little solace I know for your current situation.
