mouse over not working to view tracked changes

I'm using word 2002 on XP. When I set the doc to
view "Final Showing Markup" I see the changes, but I
can't see who and when the changes were made when I
mouseover. It doesn't matter whether I'm viewing the
changes with or without the balloons.
It's very important to me to see the date of changes, and
Track Changes really became a mystifying pain in the @#$^%
^ in this version of Word, unlike the previous ones.
Thanks.

Do you have "ScreenTips" checked on the View tab of Tools | Options?

Thanks for the quick and helpful reply.
Who the heck decided to name this "ScreenTips" and bury
it in View tab of Tools | Options, rather than under
track change options where it belongs....
Anyhow, thanks, I'll try to remember this totally non-
intuitive factoid.

The ScreenTips option affects more than just Track Changes; it also has to
do with comments, footnotes, endnotes, etc.

The ScreenTips option even controls the *highlighting* of
text that has a comment attached to it!
