Mouse Wheel not working properly

L

Louise

Hi all

This may seem a really strange question but......when one of my colleague's
scrolls down with the wheel on their mouse, rather than taking them up and
down the screen, it takes them from left to right???

Any idea why this has happened and how do we change it?

Thank you.

My mouse doesn't have the option to swap the scroll behavior of the mouse...
but their mouse might. Choose Start - Settings - Control Panel - Mouse, and
take a look at the settings.

we have looked through the settings and can't find anything wrong. However,
what we have just found out............it works fine with Windows
applications but they also use CAD - it's this that causes the problem. I
know nothing about CAD?!?!

Any help??

Thanks again.

Is the up an down scroll bar there or grayed out?

If you can't scroll up and down (i.e. all content from top to bottom is shown on the screen), then the mouse
scroll wheel scrolls left and right.

Thanks for your reply, however, the mouse will scroll Top and Bottom but only
when using a Windows application - it only goes left to right when it is
being used for CAD???

Thanks again.

I'm confused. I thought you were running Windows, in which case *all* of
your applications, including CAD, are Windows applications.

Sorry..........I meant it works fine for Office - Word, Excel etc, it is only
CAD that we are experiencing the problems.

Any ideas???

Well... since this is a support group for Microsoft Office, I'm afraid
you're not likely to find perfect support for a non-Microsoft product. I'm
not even sure which CAD program you're running.

However... I do know that several CAD programs offer flexible mouse options
for different work styles. So, you might check in your CAD program's
settings/preferences to see if perhaps your mouse wheel behavior is being
controlled by an option you can change. Good luck!

Hello again...

Apparently they can't find anything wrong in the settings either. N'mind -
thanks very much for your help with this any way, it's appreciated.
