I am attempting to move my notes column to the right of my resource names column but I can only manage to move the contents of the column. Please help!
You don't move columns in Project. You just hide or insert them where you
want them. Unfortunately you can't append a column at the end so you have to
rename the end column and insert another one to the left of it.

Mark the column you want to move by left-klicking in the
header field (the column becomes black). When the cursor
is just over the heading field it turns into a cross with
arrows. Hold the left botton down and drag-and-drop the
column to where you want it to be!
You are correct. The ability to drag columns was added in Project
2002. In earlier versions, you must hide the column you want to move,
and then insert it where you want it to appear.
Sorry - you're right Sarah - it was 2002 that introduced it and not 2003 as
I said earlier.
