Moving FP webs

S

Steve

I had to move my webs from an ME machine to an XP machine
while I take the old machine and bump it to 2000. I have
several webs, one of which is huge and after the
migration, FP 2000 considered that each file had been
modified and wanted to do a complete overwrite which took
hours on high speed access. I will however, have to
migrate back when the new OS is live and at this time
fully expect that I will have to do a complete upload then
too. Is there anything that can be done so that FP will
not consider each file an overwrite of what is already on
the server?

No.

However, instead of moving the sites from one PC to another, open the live
site on the remote server in FP (if the remote servers has the FP
extensions) and publish to the other PC this will keep both copies in sync,
as FP will automatically do a complete publish the new location.
