Shakir,

In the newsgroup microsoft.public.project where you have posted your
message we cannot see the previous post. Please repost with a
specific description of your issue including information on the
release of project plus service pack you have installed.

See http://project.mvps.org/posting.htm

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Hi Julie,

I am experiencing Import Error when opening an MPX file in MS Project 2007 when it contains a Resource Assignment Record i.e. Record number 75

Example:
.......
70;11;11;"Hardware Design/Submittal";7;13d;0d;0d;13d;0d;0d;;;;;22.12.2008 09:00;12.01.2009 17:15;18.02.2009 09:00;06.03.2009 17:15;;;;;;;22.12.2008 09:00;12.01.2009 17:15;18.02.2009 09:00;06.03.2009 17:15;;;Yes;No;25h;25h;8h;"Int. Processed Activity";" ";"50032993 0020 ";12FS;;12FS;;032%;
75;1;0;25h;25h;8h;;;;;;;;1
.......

In the above transcript of the MPX file a task and its resource assignment should be visible in MS Project.

In MS Project 2007 I get an error popup but not in MS Project 2003.

Can you help me in this regard?

Best regards,
Shakir

Hi Julie,

I had checked the post mentioned by you. I suspect there is a change in
format of the Resource Assignment record (Record Number 75) for MS Project
2007.

It would be of great help if you could ask your fellow MVP about it.

Best regards,
Shakir

Hi Shakir,

I see you've reposted to the developer newsgroup. Good call.
Perhaps Jack or someone will take it from there.

Hi Shakir,

I don't believe you can save a Project file in MPX past the 2000
release of Project., I don't know whether they have changed the
schema in 2007 but I would imagine as saving as MPX hasn't been
supported for 4 releases, it wouldn't be unreasonable for things to
have been changed.

I assume you are trying to import into Project 2007 from another
product which does not support XML?

I hope this helps.

Hi Julie,

I know its not possible to save as MPX. But definitely the way an MPX file
is interpreted in Project 2007 is different from earlier releases.

I am wondering how I can know this.

Hi Shakir,

I'm afraid I don't know. If the most recent file on
Support.microsoft.com you found references Project 98 and Project
2000, that may be the last publicly available information there is.
I did a quick search on MSDN and found the same KB article you cite
plus a few more -- none specifically mentions any release of Project
after Project 2000.

I'm sorry I wish I could provide more help -- but I truly don't know
what has changed with the import process for MPX files in Project
2007.
