MS Project 2002 on Windows XP

Hi,

I'm facing the problem of "corrupt cabinet" while installing
Microsoft Project 2002 on Windows XP.

Actually this problem should not be there on XP becoz the Windows
Installer already the new one. I was not able to find any update/patch
for Windows Installer for XP.

The READMe says that this problem occurs on Windows NT, 98 and 2000
and requires the update to windows installer. That update on the CD
doesn't work for XP. It throws error saying something related to Build
Version of OS, which is obviously different from NT and 2000.

Pls. help.

If no reply here (which tends to be user's of Project) might want to
check with the XP systems gurus on microsoft.public.windowsxp.basics as
this really an issue with the operating system.

Wild shot... you have tried installing with Virus protection software
disabled?
