Problem installing Project 2002 on Windows XP Professional

Hi,

I'm facing the problem of "corrupt cabinet" while installing
Microsoft Project 2002 on Windows XP.

Actually this problem should not be there on XP becoz the Windows
Installer is already the new one. I was not able to find any update/patch
for Windows Installer for XP.

The READMe says that this problem occurs on Windows NT, 98 and 2000
and requires the update to windows installer. That update on the CD
doesn't work for XP. It throws error saying something related to Build
Version of OS, which is obviously different from NT and 2000.

Pls. help.

Hi Jeremy,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup

Opinion suggests a speck of dust on your CD! Try:
1. Take the CD out
2. Wipe it off really hard
3. Insert the CD back in
4. Run setup again.
