MS Project PDS - Feature missing!

When your software wants to communicate with the Project Server(PS), you can
use PDS Web Service by communicating with PDS through various XML messages.

F.ex:
- ProjectCreate Method
- ProjectTaskCreate Method
- ....

Why is there no way of updating a Project/Task with the PDS Web Service?
Is there any other way of doing this?

The reason PDS cannot update certain project and task fields is because they
effect other fields. The server does not have the ability to recalculate
the project plan. For example, if you create a PDS extension to change the
start date of a task, every dependent task's start and finish dates could
change as a result. The server is not the Project Pro engine, therefore
does not have the ability to change all of these tasks.

If you want to modify any field that results in the calculation event, you
must use Project on the desktop.
