MS PUBLISHER in MAC OP SYS

I have been using MS PUB since the early 1990's (Ver 3.1?). I am bilingual in
English and Publisher!

I would seriously like to move to the MACBOOK PRO computer.

The one limitation is that MAC OFFICE does not include MS PUB in any version
of OFFICE. I have read the blogs and talked to those who have tried to
makeshift PAGES + IPHOTO, ADOBE pdf, and WORD, and there is no satisfactory
work around. (I can open, even edit pub files as a pdf. But I can't find the
creative power of PUB anywhere else! Those that say WORD can do anything PUB
can do - they just know what they don't know (as in "blind spot").

Question: Will MS PUB ever be available and operate in a MAC OS world?

Thank you!

Will there ever? Since none of us is a Microsoft employee the best we could
do is guess.

Parallels Desktop, VMWare Fusion, and VirtualBox all allow installation
of Windows such that it runs concurrently with OS X. All three allow the
Windows desktop to be hidden, putting the Windows applications in the
same space as the OS X applications. Of the three, only VirtualBox is
free; all require purchasing a Windows license.

Alternatively you could try CrossOver Mac, but that has a less good
track record.

I say no for several reasons. Office on the Mac was a way to keep
Microsoft Office on all the desktops in an office. You know, those
designer theretics that insisted on Macs and those in education. The Mac
side of the universe just isn't big enough to make it worth porting
Publisher. Not to mention how entrenched the alternatives (Pages,
InDesign, Illustrator, etc) are. The technological hurdles would be
high, very high, I think. The biggest hurdle would be moving away from
GDI and having Publisher be responsible for creating all of it's
objects.

It would be a ton of work for very little, if any, payoff.

I purchased a Mac and installed Windows on it using Parrallels 4. It is a
program that allows you to run 2 operating systems on the one host computer.
I was then able to put my office 2007 programs on, including Publisher.
Good luck
