MS Publisher won't allow me to save any files. Any solutions?

MS Publisher 2000 has stopped allowing me to save any work on my hard drive.
It says I'm either out of memory or there isn't enough space on my drive.
Neither is correct. I have 512MB of Ram and 69% of my drive is free. I can
download internet files and save without a problem. It is just a problem in
Publisher.

This computer is at home. It is connected to a Linksys LAN but there has
been no file sharing via the LAN.

Are you saving to your hard drive or to a removable medium?

Are you running Norton AntiVirus?

I normally save to the hard drive, but Publisher won't even save to an
external drive, not even a flash drive. I've tried all types of medium, but
I keep getting the response, "The disk is full trying to write C:\Documents
and Settings\Computer User\2005.pub. Please save this file on a different
disk and/or drive." My C:\ drive has 39 GB of free space.
