MS Sans Serif is not Truetype

P

Peter Rossiter

I notice that a font I use a lot, MS Sans Serif, is not TrueType.

I think this means it does not scale a smoothly as TrueType fonts
do.

Is there something I can alter on my system to get MS Sans Serif as
TrueType?

MS Sans Serif is a display font. It is not designed to be used for printing.
I would suggest that you find a TrueType font that resembled MS Sans Serif
and use that instead. Actually, I find that I have a font called "Microsoft
Sans Serif" that *is* a TrueType font. According to
http://www.microsoft.com/typography/fonts/default.asp, it is supplied with
Windows 2000 and Windows XP.
