MS Word 2002: When open program: 2 documents open at the same tim.

My operating system is MS XP: Whenever I open the word software: 2 blank
documents open at the same time. Is there an adjustment I can make to stop
this.

If you hold down CTRL when starting Word (= Safe mode), do you still see the
same behavior?
