.MSG attachment problems

I'm using Outlook 2003 and I am not able to open
attachments with a .MSG extension. I am able to open .JPG
files. I'm running Windows XP Pro. I also have Netscape
installed and it has no problem opening .MSG files. I have
tried, I think, all of the option settings and none have
worked. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
