MSOffice & MSWorks Setup/Uninstall

I have both Office and Works installed on my computer and
would like to uninstall Works. If I uninstall works,
will it uninstall Word also?

When I tried to uninstall Works, I was using Word. The
uninstll gave me a message that I need to close Word for
the uninstall to be successfull.

Can I uninstall Works without uninstalling Word? Works
came with the laptop, I installed Office afterwords.
