msoffice software incomplete

I just purchased a Compaq Presario Desktop with Windows XP. From the
installed 60 trial MS Office, I ordered and downloaded another edition-For
teachers and students. It did not work. After talking with and MS and HP
technician, I had to do a system retore because of other complications. From
MS I ordered a complete 2003 Professional Edition of MS Office. When I tried
installing this program, the installation would not complete. It also
interrupts other processess. Computer will not complete shutdown process, so
have to turnoff manually. Where do I go from here?

Did you uninstall the trial version first? Sometimes having that
installed can cause problems.
