MST file is not being applied

I created a custom MST file with the Custom Installation Wizard but none of
the settings are applied during the installation, Office 2003 is still doing
a standard installation.

I edited the setup.ini file and specified the path to the MST files. I
tried deploying through a group policy and also tried initiating the
installation through a batch file containing the following parameters:

setup.exe TRANSFORMS=I:\Office2003STD\CustomSetup.MST /qb-

Nothing works, it keeps doing a standard installation, what am I doing
wrong???

Hi, eots,

What version of Office 2003 do you have, and how was it obtained? Is it an
OEM copy?

It's a corporate license. I figured out how to get the MST file to work with
the group policy, now I just need to find out how to get SP1 to install
through the MST file after the office installation is complete. So far the
installation keeps hanging when it gets to the service pack. I unpacked the
service pack and included "ohotfix.exe mainsp1ff.msp" in the section of the
MST file where you run other programs after the installation and edited the
ohotfix.ini file, it's just not working.

Hi Eots,

In your original message it sounded like the MST wasn't
being applied at all. If it is being applied in the
initial install but not when you then update to SP1, separately,
that would sound about right, if I'm following you correctly.

Basically an MST file only works on an initial installation.
Once the product is installed you can use a CMW
(Custom Maintenance Wizard) file to modify the installed
product, or you can update the Office Admin Point before
deploying with your MST.

This information may be helpful.
