Multi-select list box, revisited

I need assistance creating a multi-select list box with a secondary data
source for the list population. I have read 2 posts that were very helpful
in getting started, but did not close the loop for me. My secondary source
is another Sharepoint table on the same site.

This archived post
(http://blogs.msdn.com/infopath/archive/2004/04/01/106039.aspx) explained
very well how to create a static multi-select list box.

This newer post and the response from Scott Heim/MSFT
(http://msdn.microsoft.com/newsgroup...360b1b-55ff-4c50-9cb3-9cd954359fa4&sloc=en-us)
took me much closer to a dynamic population. In fact, I am able to see the
dynamic values populating correctly in the list. The only difference in my
scenario is that I'm not trying to populate an entire record into the new
record by clicking a botton, but rather simply trying to fill in a field
option - no buttons required.

Unfortunately, the Checkbox option, which I created in the secondary
Sharepoint form specifically for the purpose of this task, is uneditable on
the new form. The Checkbox properties do not allow me to change the
settings, and that leaves me stumped. Please help!
