Multiple email copies received

I receive up to seven (7!) copies of the same message
before it is deleted from the server. I contacted the ISP
who says it is Microsoft's fault; their server works
correctly. I have a Toshiba laptop, WIN-XP-Home, set to
delete messages from the server. If my home PC (WIN-
2000Pro) is set to delete messages from the server, it
works OK. Help anyone? Thank you.
