Multiple roles for a resource

B

Barb Van Honr

I have a situation where there are several roles that one
super-user occupies. When the original workplan was
created, the work was assigned to generic roles (security
specialist, module specialist, etc.). Now that we are
ready to assign people to tasks, I don't know how to
assign this person and still keep track of what the
original "skill requirement" was. For instance, if I
assign the task to "John", was it to "John the security
expert" or "John the functional module expert"? This is
really important information to capture since this
particular workplan is a "blueprint" for several other
projects that will require the same skill sets.

Has anyone else had this same issue where they have more
than one "hat" that a resource wears?

Hello Barbara,

You can store this information in a Text field of the assignment (which you
can access in a Usage view)
You can also leave the original skill assignemnt as a second assignment to
the task with 0% units.
