Multiple versions of Office

A

Alex H

Hi i have had to install multiple versions of office on the same laptop- all
are in their own directories and only Outlook 2003 is installed. I also
installed Office 2000 first, did all the updates, then Office XP and office
2003

However when I started Word 2000, it came up asking for the installation CD,
and now if I open Outlook 2003 it is trying to use Word 2000 as its editor.
I am assuming that Word 2000 has become the default, how do i switch it back
to Word 2003

thanks

Alex

To the best of my knowledge OL2003 will only use Word2003, I dont believe it
can use word2k.
When you installed O2k did you amend shortcuts to be O2k specific ie Word to
Word2k and did you do the same for Oxp?
You might check file associations also to insure the default, eg .doc is
associated with O2003

Also, was it neccessary to install the entire office suite for each version?

Hi Thanks for post

yes all sort custs are in their own folder shortcut on desktop.

Will have to get hold of machine from tutor and see what they have done!!

Yes, we run a Distance Lesrning Course of MS Office, and with 1000+
students, have to still cover each version - you would be asmazed at what
prtoblems the students come up with, and its much easier if we can emulate
what they are doing and see what's on screen.

Thanks anyway
