You can't use iTunes in PowerPoint because of the DRM (Digital Rights
Management) associated with the files. there are a number of programs out
there that will convert your files into something that can be used in
PowerPoint

if u have the music file in your computer, you can just go to insert, sound,
from file, and find the file and add it to ur powerpoint

However, Mandy, if the presentation is taken to any other computer, there is
a very strong chance that it will not play (as Michael said, due to DRM).
If you want to share this presentation, iTunes music is definitely NOT the
way to go.

What if I burn a cd-r of songs from Itunes then insert the cd and play it

AFAIK, it won't make any difference they are still copied files and the DRM
still applies.

Not being in the music business I can only suggest peer to peer groups like
Limewire or Mininova, or you can start by ripping your own CD's. PowerPoint
can handle just about all kinds of music files like MP3, WMA, WAV. With WAV
files being the only ones that can be embedded into a presentation. All
others are linked.

Since Windows Media Player (what PowerPoint's using to play the media)
doesn't support MP4 files you'd need to find a converter to convert the MP4
files to something that PowerPoint can play (like WAV). What I'd suggest is
to search the web for something like "convert mp4 to wav" and see what hits
you get. I haven't used any of those converters before so you'd want to read
up on them before choosing one, unless some one else on this newsgroup wants
to chime in with any suggestions.
