my e-mails also go to my wife's inbox

any incoming e-mails go to both my inbox and my wife's inbox and vice versa
despite us having different e-mail addresses. How do i stop this?

While you may have different addresses, I suspect they're aliases of each
other and that you really both use the same mailbox on your ISP's mail
server. Do you both use the same username/password to log into the POP mail
server?

Then they aren't really separate mailboxes (or addresses, for that matter)
and the best you can do, in my opinion, is to create a rule that deletes all
incoming mail except if the recipient is the correct one. Leave copies of
the messages on the server so that your Outlook and hers can see all the
messages each time.
