My pictures aren't showing in Publisher 2003, why?

I downloaded a Adobe Acrobat trial version last week and now I can't see
pictures in my publisher documents. I don't know if the download had
anything to do with it, but I have tried various changes to the pictures and
I still can't see them. The points around the picture show, just no picture.

Adobe Acrobat appears to do something to the video driver that screws up
Publisher compatibility.
