My workbook has converted into text file(symbols), what I do?

Data in my workbook has converted into symbols and codes (text file), when I
try to open it from Excel it gives message "the text wizard has determined
that your data has been delimited ....". How can I retrieve my data. Please
guide me. See below

It sounds as if it isn't a text file. Have you tried renaming it as .xls
instead of .txt, and opening as an Excel workbook, rather than as a text
file?
