i need a cell to return a text answer based on the cell contents being even
or an odd number for ex. if cell#= 0,2,4,6,8, or 1,3,5,7,9 then in new cell
display text

one way (includes checking for text and blank entries)
with the number to test in A1
=IF(ISNUMBER(A1),IF(ISEVEN(A1),"even num",IF(ISODD(A1),"odd num","no
num")),"not a number")
