need help restoring emails backed up to iMac using Backup

I was having major problems with my new MacBook caused by some
corrupted files and wound up having to reinstall the Mac operating
system (Mac OS X Version 10.4.8) and create a new user account. My old
account appears to be gone completely. Prior to the reinstallation, I
backed-up my Documents folder, which contains my Microsoft User Data
file, onto my iDisk using the Mac program Backup.

I have now created a new user account with the same name as my old user
account. However, when I restored my Documents folder, none of my
Entourage information was restored. Luckily, all of my contacts were
synced with my iMac address book, so I have those. But, I appear to
have lost all of my calendar information and all of my emails. Any
suggestions for how to find & restore them?

I don't use Backup so I'm not sure how it works. If the data is still on
your iDisk you should be able to get the old data back.

Normally, you just replace the Microsoft User Data folder with the old
folder. If you started Entourage before doing the backup it created a new
blank Identity in the Microsoft User Data folder. I'm guessing the backup
program was somehow confused by this.

Isolate the Microsoft User Data folder on your iDisk.

If you have not used a new identity in Entourage, then copy the entire
Microsoft User Data folder to the correct location.

Fix if you have more than one Microsoft User Data Folder...

Move the entire identity folder you want to use to the Office Identities
folder that Entourage is recognizing. Your identity is named "Main" by
default. Be sure to rename one so you do not overwrite. Your identity folder
can contain more than one identity.

Switch Identities to view your old mail. If you have not used the new
identity, delete it. If you have used it and want to combine the new mail
with your original database, drag each folder to the desktop from one
identity. This creates an MBOX file. Switch identities. Drag the MBOX files
into the folder window of Entourage.

You can delete the old folder after you are satisfied with the transfer.
