Need Help with High Level View Resource Template

T

TROYBAL

Looking for some help using Microsoft Project Professional 2003.

Need a simple High Level resource chart to track where Engineers are located.

Example.

My Tasks may be building houses.
So I have 10 houses to build.
So Task #1 = House #1
Task #2 = House #2
And so on....

I know that House #1 task is going to be 6 Months regardless of how many
Engineers are there.

I have 15 Resources(Engineers), I want to assign 2 Engineers to House #1,
regardless
of what they do..
And 3 Resources to House #2. etc....
I need to be able to see the 2 Engineers(House #1 Task) as a single line
which would include there vacation time, holidays, etc....
Each Engineer as a single line, not all on the same line.

Simple high level view
But I am having difficulty figuring this out.
Thanks

Hi,

Enter your tasks in the Gantt chart view, enter the durations
Enter your resource names in the Resource Sheet View
Back to the gantt Chart view

Select all tasks
Right-click, Task Info dialog box comes up
Advanced
In task type select Fixed duration
In effort driven, DESELECT

OK
Now for each task
Double click, task info comes up, Resources pad
Select the resource(s) from the drop down list.

Resource Usage view tells you what the people are doing.

Hi,

Really similar is not possible.
You can come closer in the task usage view (I misread your question thinking
you needed it by resource)
Hope this helps,
