Need installation help

when i try to install Office Pro 2003 my computer i have a
message the comes up and says:
The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This
can occur if you are running Windows in safe mode, or if
the Windows Installer is not correctly installed. Contact
your support personnel for assistance.

any information that one could give me would be greatly
appreciated...
