Good Morning All,
I'm struggling to come up with a lookup-type formula. I think I might
need a VBA solution. This is going to be difficult to explain. Here's
what I'm trying to accomplish:
My data set consists of 500 rows and 16 columns. The column headers are
cities (Detroit, LA, Chicago, etc). Each cell has one word in it (car,
truck, SUV). I have another spreadsheet in the same workbook with
mileage for all cities listed in a multiplication table-like format.
I want to find "car" and look in the row it resides in and find truck
or SUV. If it finds "truck" or "SUV" I want to do a Match on the
mileage spreadsheet. It should return the city that is closest.
Sorry for the vague description. It's hard to explain in words. See the
link below for an example.
Any help is welcome. Thanks!
Dan
