thanks for the help mate

I have a protected folder that needs to be signed into before an order is
made, I have the order sent to an email address and it is also stored on
line.

I need to know who signed in, what is the variable code I need to use to
show who has signed in for that order?

I have the time and the IP address shown just need the user name of the
person that has signed in. to ensure that it is a genuine order.

thank you

Depends how you are authenticating
If w/ ASP use a hidden form field w/ User ID
If not try form properties - options - saved fields - username

thanks for the help mate

I have protected a folder on my site via the control panel of my host.

when a visitor click signon on the home page it then the signon dialog box
pops up asking for the user name and password. and if authorised the order
page would open.

when the order is completed and submitted it shown the IP address and the
time stamp in the form results that are emailed to me. but I need to know
what user name they used in the signin dialog box. I have a user name text
filed for them to enter it again in the order form page, but want to get rid
of this, to ensure it really is them that is making the order. as I could
signin as Joe Bloggs but put john smith in the user name field in the order
page. which could happen if they found this out.

thanks again.
