Network hyperlink stops working when saving

We use Office 2003, and we have the following problem using PowerPoint:

1. First I create a hyperlink which links to a document using UNC path
2. I run slideshow to test it´s working, and it´s working
3. I save the document to a mapped network drive, and the link is broken. It
looks something like this (..//..//..//myfiles/documents)

however, if I instead save the presentation to the local C drive, then the
link is not broken.

I have tried this on 3 different computers/users with the same result.
I have tried this on PowerPoint 2007, and here it works.

Do you have any ideas?
