New Computer and Office won't work

I just bought a new computer today and jus tried to open microsoft word not
knowing that you had to do whatever at first before you could start using it.
So it asked for my product key, and i typed the one that is on the side of
the computer, says it's invalid. Then I looked in my package of booklets
that came with the computer and there was a microsoft office 2003 trial disk,
and that also has a trial product key so i typed that in, still says that
it's invalid. What do I do and why won't my product key(s) work!
