New computer, project 95, no floppy!

Bob

Problem:
Can't install project 98 upgrade because it can't find
project 95 anywhere.

Problem details:
- upgraded to a new computer which has no floppy
- Using project 98 upgrade and project 95 full edition
- Project 95 is on floppies
- One of the floppies is bad (disk 3 of 7).
- Coppied project 95 disk 1 to a cd-rom, then coppied onto
the hard drive of the new computer.
- Project 98 cannot find project 95 disk 1 even when I
specify the exact directory where I coppied it.

Any suggestions?

Hi,

I think there is a security feature on the floppy and it requires that
floppy or no go. However, you can share the floppy drive of another PC then
put disk 1 in it. I don't think you need to install Project 95 first, just
have disk 1 available when asked. Connect to the shared floppy drive in
Explorer and use the new drive letter when asked for disk 1.

If you aren't on a network and/or can't share a drive, the
other option is to buy an external USB floppy drive for
about $30 (u.s.).
